Senior Andie Lostocco led the Galloway girls’ basketball team into the holiday break by putting on a clinic on outside shooting.
Lostocco set a school record with seven 3-pointers and scored 21 points in a 53-13 win over Cross Keys Dec. 10. Her 18 points then led the Scots to a narrow 37-35 victory over Pinecrest Academy Dec. 16, Galloway’s fourth straight and fifth in six games as it improved to 6-2 on the season.
“She’s streaky behind the arc, but she can make them,” said Galloway coach CliffWaddy. “I give her the green light to shoot them, and I encourage her to try and get the shots.”
Lostocco plays out on the wing and her coach likes her ability and willingness to score in multiple ways.
“She’s very versatile,” Waddy said. “She’s stepped up her game, being more aggressive, shooting the ball, looking for her shot more. And she’s been putting the ball on the floor and going to the basket more than she has in the past.”
Lostocco is a three-year starter on the basketball team. She also starred on the volleyball squad, where she was one of the area’s best liberos.
